Ours to Tell – Celebrating Black History Month

Come celebrate Black culture, history, heritage, and achievement in Calgary with CRIEC. We are excited to bring keynote speaker, Charles Osuji and an amazing panel of inspirational Black professionals to you. They’ll speak to the challenges newcomers face integrating into the labour market and how employers and other stakeholders can better attract, recruit and retain newcomer professionals — specifically Black Professionals.

Join CRIEC at the Calgary Central Library for a morning of inspiring speakers, panel discussions, and the opportunity to network with other professionals.

  • Celebrate Black culture, history/heritage, and achievement in Calgary
  • Engage in brave conversations about the challenges Black newcomers face.
  • Learn about how CRIEC’s programs and services benefit mentors, mentees and employers in our community.

Keynote Speaker: Charles Osuji, CEO & Managing Partner Osuji & Smith Lawyers, and Director and Member of CRIEC’s Board of Directors and Akolisa Ufodike the Deputy Minister of Trade, Immigration and Multiculturalism.

Plenary speaker: Tim Fox

Panel Discussions: a conversation about their lived experiences as Black professionals, and a look into how employers can attract, recruit and retain newcomers and Black professionals
