Meet Your Presenters: Paola Zaragoza, Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation
Paola joined Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation in 2011 as a Trade Development Officer, responsible for the United States and Mexico. She is currently Manager of the Export Development Team. For the past 19 years, Paola has worked for the Government of Alberta in the international marketing, trade development and investment attraction field, supporting Alberta companies in the agriculture, oil and gas and environmental industries to export products and services to international markets.
In her current role, Paola is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction in all matters related to export development of Alberta agriculture and agri-processing sectors. The team delivers specialized service to support Alberta’s agriculture and agri-food sector to prepare for and enter new markets and expand sales in current markets. These services include a blend of expertise, market research, assistance in navigating market entry, business-to-business introductions, and opportunities to profile Alberta’s agriculture and value-added agriculture industry.
Paola was born in Mexico City, Mexico. She obtained a Bachelor of Commerce from Instituto Tecnologico de Queretaro, with a Major in Business Management, and completed the GOA’s Management Development Program at the School of Business, University of Alberta. Paola lives in Edmonton with her son Matias, and her miniature schnauzer, Luke.
